The perfect life.

The perfect marriage.

The jilted lovconsciousnessr worlds collide.

Fate intervenes twelve years later and their paths intersect once again. All three will question whether the heart is truly capable of dividing and being divided; each will decide whether it matters who you loved first or who you love last.

Together they will learn that in the end, there can always only be one.

After reading The Light in the Wound, I couldn't wait to read this one.  I wasn't disappointed, Christine Brae does an excellent job of getting into your head and heart with her writing.  This was one heck of a rollercoaster ride of emotions.  There were times when I couldn't turn the pages fast enough, then there were the times when I didn't want to turn them at all, because I was afraid of what would happen next.  I'm not ashamed to say, I was ugly crying more than once.  If you're going to read this, and I highly recommend you do, I suggest your have your Book hangover pack to hand.

I was hooked instantly, from the Prologue, and from there it was a non stop ride.  The book is written from the POV of Isa, Alex and Jesse, so we are given a greater insight to what each of them are feeling at any given time.  We are able to share in their happiness and commiserate with them during the devastating times.  If you are looking for a light easy read, then save this one for later.

Isa and Alex have been happily married for 12 years when the story begins. Their love for each other is crystal clear and just flows of the page and seeps into your soul.  You are left in no doubt about the depth of their love

But Jesse loves Isa too and he wants to be given another chance to prove just how much and that he is worth the risk.

The story is intense and because you get to see it from everyone's point of view.  I felt all the emotions seep of the pages and into my consciousness and deep into my soul.  From all the happiness to the pain, they all reverberated around and left me feeling like I had been put through the wringer!

Christine Brae did a marvellous job in pulling everything out of her characters and giving her one heck of an emotional ride during the story.  If you haven't read this series yet, I highly recommend you put it on your TBR list ASAP!

WHAT'S NEXT FOR CHRISTINE BRAE?

Christine Brae is a full time career woman who thought she could write a book about her life and then run away as far as possible from it. She never imagined that her words would touch the hearts of so many women with the same story to tell. This is her second and final book in the Light in the Wound series. Her third book is scheduled to come out in late 2014.

When not listening to the voices in her head or spending late nights at the office, Christine can be seen shopping for shoes and purses, running a half marathon or spending time with her husband and three children in Chicago.
