She was the most beautiful girl I'd ever seen. Pure class. Old money. I never stood a chance... until she broke up with her dickhead of a boyfriend and went off the rails.
Brannon Forrester doesn't expect much from life. He coasts through aimlessly. No real ties. Nothing to hold him back. Hanging out with his best friend, lead singer of a local bar band, he lives for pleasure, out of the spotlight but with all the excess of the band's small-town fame. After all, why should he be good when the only woman he really wants will never give him the time of day?
Then, one night at an after party, Sophie Buchanan walks through the door. In an attempt to throw caution to the wind and dream out loud, she looks to him as a guide to the wild side. As someone who can show her all the excitement and recklessness her world has been missing. He plunges her into a reality of fervent passion... and heartbreaking betrayal.
Their roles have been set. He has only ever been a good time. She has only ever been a pretty face. It would be insane for them to fall in love. But when emotion complicates lust, can the caution of the mind suppress the will of the heart?

Every book Sibylla Matilde has written, I have loved.  This one is no different.  So far I have read it four times.  Yes, four!  It is THAT good!  Oh, and hot, very, very Hot, like H.O.T!  It's a wonder the pages aren't singed.  So don't say I didn't warn you, right from the outset, be prepared to pack extra underwear (or none at all!!)

I love reading a book from the male perspective.  This one is no different.  You see just how vulnerable Brannon can be.  Most of the time he is a cocky, self assured kind of guy, but throw Sophie Buchanan in the mix and he becomes someone else entirely.

Sophie isn't as delicate as she may seem.  That girl has spunk and a lot of it (excuse the pun)!  She knows what she wants, just not how to go about getting it.  That is until she hooks up with Brannon.

There are a few bumps in the road along the way, mainly in the form of previous partners, but just when you think everything is going to be okay, BANG!  I have to say, my heart was in my mouth towards the end, willing everything to be alright.  I couldn't turn the pages fast enough, at the same time I didn't want the story to end.  My only consolation?  There will be more books from this series and I can't wait to read all about the shenanigans of Brannon's friends.

My Rating

I think it was the shirt that sealed the deal that night. It seemed to get me laid more often than not, really. Big white block letters that said “Orgasm Donor” across the black fabric that, to be quite honest, was maybe a size too small. Fortunately, I was six feet three inches and had the muscular bulk to carry it off.
I leaned against the counter that separated the open kitchen from the great room. The house was pretty massive, but when you had four guys and a shit ton of equipment to keep handy, you needed a pretty big place. Not very clean, though, which you’d expect considering the band members that lived here. More of a party spot, a place to sleep off the raucous lifestyle.  And it was my home away from home when the confines of my own mediocre apartment started feeling a little cramped.
It had been a long week at the garage, difficulty in finding parts, people not wanting to pay their bills, all kinds of shit. My grampa had left me the business that had supported his family for fifty years. Back when I was a teenager, I’d spent enough time with him to know the headache that it entailed, but this week had just really sucked. Maybe he should have left it to my sister. She was the steady one, the responsible one. I was, well… not.
I was only twenty-four, for fucks sake.
So I scanned the room to see who might be willing to slip away and entertain me for the evening. I needed to lose myself. I was pissy and tired, which meant I needed to fight or fuck, and fucking would hurt less in the morning.
Laura was eyeing me from across the room. She wasn’t too bad the first time, but I was a little concerned that she might start getting clingy if I gave her much encouragement. I couldn’t deal with clingy. It was hard to be fun when faced with clingy, and I kinda liked being fun. I didn’t want to be an asshole, but sometimes asshole was the only language clingy could understand.
Looking on through the crowd, it occurred to me that Pauline looked pretty hot tonight. And, bonus, she was a bit more laid back about things. I’d actually done her a couple times, and she was far from clingy, mostly because she sort of seemed to like variety. She’d also done Denny, Justin, Cody, and Drew.
And Maggie.
One night, she did Drew and Maggie… together. From what Drew told me, that was kinda how he and Maggie hooked up in the first place. I took a swig of my beer wondering if I was up for her tonight. She was quite adventurous. But then Justin sidled up beside her and proceeded to start sucking at her neck.
I’d shared with Justin once before. Sadly, I barely remembered the girl, which sort of made me feel shitty, but I had been really drunk. I’d just finished off just over half of a bottle of Jack. And it had been dark. The whole experience was a bit of a haze. Not one I was sure I wanted to repeat.
I scoped out the room a bit more. As big as the place was, it was damn near wall-to-wall, and people were still showing up. I saw Lily walk in and considered her for a second. I’d never had her. Cody had, and he seemed to think she was worth another round sometime. She turned back to the door, still open behind her, and motioned for someone to follow her. And then, she walked in.
Sophie fucking Buchanan.
What in the actual fuck was she doing here?
For a second, I thought I was seeing things. Not only was she here, at a band party, but that preppie dickhead boyfriend wasn’t with her. She looked different. Way different. My first thought was that Lily had likely given her a slutty makeover. Thick black eyeliner, ruby red lips, her blonde hair wild and full and falling in luscious waves around her bare shoulders with bright streaks of pink and purple and blue. Her little strappy shirt displayed the top curves of her breasts and ended just above an incredibly short, tight skirt. A skirt that ended a few good inches above some killer thigh-high boots.
Boldly holding Sophie’s gaze as she locked onto mine, I did the whole smolder thing that generally made panties drop all over town. Her head tilted a bit to the side and, even from a distance, I could see a flush color her cheeks. I could see her breath catch.
She glanced down at my shirt, and for just a moment, her eyes showed a faint hint of shock. She quickly schooled her features, though, masking her expression as Lily murmured something into her ear. Sophie looked over at her pensively, then glanced back in my direction. Lily told her something else which made Sophie shake her head ever so slightly. Then she took a deep breath, grazed her tongue across her lips, and left Lily to weave her way through the crowd.
Towards me.
And I felt a huge surge of blood rush right to my junk.
The closer she got, the harder I got. I’d only ever seen her from a distance, and she was way hotter than I’d thought, even under the thick make-up. I could imagine her plump lips wrapped around my cock. My mouth watered to taste the smooth, buttery skin of those spectacular tits. As she stepped up to me, I realized that her eyes were almost a deep blue-green, not the baby-blue I’d imagined, and I wondered how they’d look all heavy with lust as she rode me to exhaustion. The tousled blonde of her hair framed her heart-shaped face, the multicolored streaks grazing the opalescent bare skin of her shoulders.
She stepped up to me and glanced pointedly back down at my shirt. I prepared myself for a scathing comment. Every time I’d seen her before, she simply oozed class. Money. Style. High society, and, once again, I could only wonder what the fuck she was doing here.
I coolly took a sip of my beer, tipping the bottle back between my thumb and forefinger, and waited for her to talk. Lowering the bottle, I offered it to her. A dare. A test. She hesitated just a second before taking it and, not taking her eyes off mine, sucked it back.
Oh... The way her lips curved around the bottle had my already dirty thoughts turning truly sordid. Those lips would feel awesome wrapped around my dick. With the first taste, she hardly contained the clear indication that she rarely, if ever, drank beer. The tip of her tongue slipped out to catch a stray drop as she tilted the neck of the bottle to touch the letters on my shirt.
“Can you deliver on that promise?” she asked.

Sibylla Matilde grew up in the mountain valleys of Southwest Montana exploring the dusty Old West gold country on the back of a horse. She attended a two-room schoolhouse beginning in 1st grade & had the same teacher until she changed schools after 7th. Beginning at about age 12, Sibylla discovered historical romance, feeding off of work of Jude Deveraux & Lisa Kleypas. She loves a book that can make the reader run the gamut of emotions, from the sweet glow of new love to gut-wrenching heartache. She is a true romantic & always has stories floating around in her head, living in a fantasyland until she writes them down to free them.
Music is her emotional trigger. Growing up with a Wagnarian-loving mother, Sibylla was raised to treasure music that digs deep into the psyche, drawing out elation, sorrow, grief, desire. The soundtrack to her life includes many genres spanning centuries. She looooooooves Thirty Seconds to Mars (rather obsessively, actually… but, really, how can you NOT be crazy about this guy!? Jared Leto. Shhh. ) & pimps them out to all her friends through Spotify. She also delights in Met Opera HD broadcasts at her local movie theater & hopes (listening Met?) to someday see Diana Damrau reprise her role as Mozart’s Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte. Sibylla lives with her husband and hero who saved her from her own calamitous, young-adult self. He makes her laugh daily, even when things are tough. He’s proved to her that love really can heal a shattered soul. In 18 years, they have never had a fight, although argue regularly with their two teenage kids who have, unfortunately, inherited their father’s quick wit (unfortunate as it is a quick wit that Sibylla, herself, definitely does not possess – there is a reason she is a writer & not a stand-up comedian). They live a quiet life with their two weird little rescued Chiweenies. Wait… teenagers & little yap-dogs? OK, maybe not so quiet.

BLOG TOUR - Desolate by Ker Dukey

TITLE: Desolate

I was a son,

A friend,

A brother,

A psychopath.

Eighteen years of being in a psyche ward; I was released into the world. Things have changed, Blake is married to Melody and is a father to my new fixation, Cereus. My beautiful niece who knows nothing of my existence. When consequences of past sins begin playing tricks on me, old cravings demand to be satisfied.

There is no cure for my kind of sickness.

I am void of everything but obsession.

I can’t love,

I can’t feel,

I am Desolate.

Ker Dukey has an amazing talent.  In Empathy I hated Ryan.  However, during the course of this book, I found myself warming to him a little.  Yes, he is still as manipulative, yes, he is still as evil, but underneath all that there was something else, that made me see there was a little bit of good in him.  Not much, but still there all the same.  As the storyline progressed and questions were gradually answered, I really hoped he would be able to find some peace.  Now that is quite a talent for an author to make you feel something for a character, who in all honesty has not an ounce of decency in his body.

This book is set 18 years after the end of Empathy.  Blake and Melody are happily married, they have a seventeen year old daughter, Cereus.  They are blissfully happy, until the day Blake gets the call that will turn their lives upside down and inside out.  Again.

I absolutely loved this book, once I started, I couldn't put it down.  I was drawn in, right from the very first page.  It is non-stop from there right up until the very end.  Ker did not put the brakes on once!  As we catch up on the events that were right at the beginning of the book, I was screaming internally "No, no, no, no, no...!"  I HAD to check out the ending right then, and I NEVER do that!  I have always been able to stop myself.  Only, on this occasion, knowing how Ker's mind worked throughout this book, I had no other option than to check, and pray I was wrong.

If Empathy is still sitting on your TBR shelf, my advice is to move that baby up to the top, so you can devour the twisted delight that is Desolate.

My Rating

I have always had a passion for storytelling, whether it be through lyrics or bed time stories with my sisters. I wanted to be an actress growing up so I could live many roles but I learned early on that my mind was too active... I would want to change the script.I would watch films and think of ways they could of improved the story if they took another direction so i thought it best that i tell my own.

My mum would always have a book in her hand when I was young and passed on her love for reading, inspiring me to venture into writing my own. I tend to have a darker edge to my writing. Not all love stories are made from light, some are created in darkness but are just as powerful and worth telling.

When I'm not lost in the world of characters I love spending time with my family. I'm a mum and that comes first in my life but when I do get down time I love attending music concerts or reading events with my younger sister.

You can find me on Facebook where i love interacting with my readers.

BLOG TOUR - Kick by Carmen Jenner

TITLE: Kick
AUTHOR: Carmen Jenner
SERIES: Savage Saints MC
GENRE: Dark

DATE OF RELEASE: 26 January 2015
TOUR ORGANISERS: The Rock Stars of Romance

When I was ten, my father indoctrinated me into the family.
A brotherhood who would fight, protect, and give their lives for one another. A club whose ties ran thicker than blood, murkier than the dirt and grime that tainted my soul. Stronger than the bonds that connected me to my own family.
A band of brothers, where loyalty was kept and paid in a currency of blood.
When I was twenty-seven, I betrayed that brotherhood.
I’ve spent every day since running, avoiding paying back that debt.
My name is Daniel Johnson.  I have betrayed everyone I ever loved.
And I’ll betray her too.
This is my story—if you’re screwed up enough to want to read it.

Warning: KICK contains graphic violence, profanity, drug use, and explicit sexual situations of a taboo nature. Intended for an 18+ audience only. Not intended for pussies.

Holy hell, this book takes you on one heck of a ride.  This is unlike any MC book I have read in the past.  It is darker than dark, Daniel/Kick and Kayla/Indie are seriously screwed up, Kick as a result of his upbringing and Indie as a result of her terrifying ordeal.

From the outset, the story is powerful, dark and gut wrenching.  That does not ease up until the final page.  The warning the Carmen Jenner put at the beginning of the book was NOT for fun.  She is serious with what she says.  I have read warnings in the past and thought 'it won't be that bad'.  This one IS that bad, there is kidnapping, rape and torture, to name a few.

Throughout the book we are taken back a few years, to show what happened to Kick, to make him like he is today.  These little glimpses of the past, really put together the pieces to show just how Kick became the broken man he is today, and it is not pretty.  He is, by his own admission, a monster.  He not only lives and breathes violence, he desires it.  After being left broken by the death of his girlfriend, he has refused to 'feel'.  He is cold, detached, depraved and he makes no apologies for any of it.

When Kick first comes across Indie, he recognises something in her but for the life of him, he doesn't know what it is.  It eventually dawns on him, that it is her desire to fight and survive.  It is that small part of her that starts to penetrate the darkness that has become his way of life.  Indie is broken as a result of the ordeal she was subjected to.  She shows fight and spirit, and with the help of Kick, she is able to use her fear to feed into regaining her strength and determination, which helps her maintain her fight and spirit.

This book is an emotional roller-coaster from start to finish, but it is worth it.

I pick up a cup of cold, stale, black coffee and chug it down. It tastes like shit, so I screw the cap off of a bottle of Jack and chase the black filth with the burn of amber. I set it back on the table while the familiar click of my gun being cocked echoes through my small room. I laugh. Fucking ballsy bitches make me hot.
“Hands in the air, and turn around. Slowly,” the woman says through a scratchy throat. I do as she asks, mostly because I want to keep my spine intact, but also partly because bitches with guns are fucking hot, and I’m hard as a rock just thinking about the way she’s gonna look with a pistol trained on me.
She’s been busy while I was out, rummaging through my drawers and finding a pair of loose tracksuit pants. They’re rolled at the waist, so much that it makes her look pregnant. That, combined with her crazy fuckin’ cat lady hair and the filth covering her body, makes her look like a homeless person.
I smile and clasp my hands behind my head. Her eyes rove over me, taking in my size. She’s checking me for the arsenal I so obviously have stashed away in my fucking worn, faded jeans. She’s not checking me out and dreaming about me taking her rough and hard on my fucking scratched-up dining table, but I still get a fucking boner out of having her eyes roam all over me.
“Pick up the keys, and open the door,” she commands.
“If you run, they’ll shoot you.”
“Pick up the fucking keys.”
I snatch up the keys and lob them at her, hard enough that she has to twist out of the way. She cries out as she does, proving to me that her ribs are definitely injured, maybe even cracked. I lunge at her. Shoving her back against the bed, I land on top of her, warding off her blows with one hand and squeezing her wrist with the other until she drops the gun on the floor.
“Get off me!” she screams.
“You’re not leaving this clubhouse,” I whisper in her ear as she struggles beneath me. “The best you can hope for is to play nice and I might decide to keep you as a house mouse. But if you piss me off, and if you pull on me with my own gun again, your life will be so much worse. You thought the dentist was fucked up? Baby, you haven’t seen anything until you’ve lived inside my fantasies for a day. So if I were you, I’d be really fuckin’ careful about how you play your next move.”

Carmen Jenner is a thirty-something, USA TODAY Best Selling Author, doctor, pilot and CIA agent.  She's also a compulsive, flagrant prevaricator who gets to make things up for a living.
While Sugartown may not technically exist, Carmen grew up in a small Australian town just like it, and just like her characters, she always longed for something more. They didn't have an Elijah Cade, though.
If they did, you can be sure she would have never left.

BLOG TOUR - Mendacious by Beth Ashworth

TITLE: Mendacious
AUTHOR: Beth Ashworth
GENRE: Contemporary Romance

DATE OF RELEASE: 27th January 2015
TOUR ORGANISERS: Everything Marie Tours

MENdacious

1. Not telling the truth; lying.
2. Based on lies.
At the young, naive age of twenty-three, Alex Lewis believed in the deepness of his love and the strength of his marriage to, Libby, his teenage sweetheart. Married for three years, but struggling financially to keep a roof over their heads, Alex thought his wife would stand by him till the bitter end. But she didn’t. His world crashed down around him.

Fast forward seven years, we meet Alex Lewis again. In the time since his divorce, he has matured significantly. Now the founder and domineering CEO of A L Investments, a multimillion-pound Investment and Management Company, he couldn’t be more different. The high-flying career he has managed to carve conceals a raw and vulnerable side just under the surface. The scars from his ill-fated marriage run deep, leaving him distant, cold, and alone.

So when his path with Libby crosses and an opportunity for revenge presents itself, Alex jumps at the offer. His mind is determined to make Libby feel the pain he has suffered over the last seven years… but his heart and conscience are fiercely battling against him.

The love of his life is back once again, but who can win in this mendacious game of revenge?

I couldn't wait to get my grubby hands on this book.  From the minute I knew Beth was working on it, I was impatiently waiting for the release date.  Then, there it was.  Sitting so pretty in my Kindle.  So I did what I had been wanting to do for months and dived right in.  That was it, I was swallowed right up.  I couldn't get enough of Alex.  He was so broken inside, but on the outside he was keeping up appearances by using every means available to him, to look complete and together.  Unfortunately, his facade was about to crumble spectacularly.

Right from the outset, you knew the heartbreak that made Alex, who he was.  However, as the story progresses, Beth very cleverly starts to weave Libby's perspective, on what caused the issues in their marriage.  That age old problem of communication or the lack of.

What started out as Alex wanting to ruin his ex-wife, ended up being something else entirely.  There were a few twists and turns, that left me trying to figure out just who was the good guy in the whole scenario.

If you think you will know how this story will play out, think again, because Beth Ashworth has done a spectacular job of keeping you on your toes and NEEDING to turn the page.

Libby.
Damn.
Libby.
Shit.
Libby.
Fuck.
I’m going to see my ex-wife after almost seven years. I have a million questions plaguing my already overwhelmed mind. What does she look like? Is she still the same? How will she react when she sees me?
The world feels like it’s about to drop out of my arse, but I’m holding onto the welcome knowledge that I’ve got the upper hand in all this. She doesn’t know it yet, but she’s signed up for business suicide with this deal.
And I’m smug as fuck.

Monday is when the plan commences and Libby learns exactly who thenew Alex Lewis is, and I’m going to enjoy every fucking minute of it. I’m sure she’ll be kicking herself when she sees me, and maybe even more when she realises what I have in store for her.
