Leah and Declan first meet up in book one of the 'Ready Series' When You're Ready. However this book can be read as a stand alone as there is enough detail to fill in a gaps and answer any questions.
Leah is not looking for a 'forever' relationship. She had her fingers burnt in the past when her long term partner left her when she needed him the most. So when she first hooked up with the Hollywood actor Declan James, she wasn't thinking long term, just one night. So imagine her surprise 6 months later, when after a particularly hard shift at the hospital where she is a nurse, Declan James turns up on her doorstep! He is looking for more of the one night loving, she thinks he's an arrogant sod and kicks him out. Declan doesn't take rejection well, probably because he has never had to experience it before. What neither of them know is just how much that one night 6 months previously has affected them. So starts the journey of discovery.
They cannot fathom how much they have changed since that night. They don't realise that they are each others half, that makes them whole. Once they do realise this, fireworks go off!!
But then comes the revelation that could either threaten or strengthen their blossoming relationship.
Throughout the story, I found myself wanting everything to work out for the best for everyone. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to see how the story progressed. When things went wrong, I found myself praying for a positive outcome. For me, when a book makes you feel any of these things, it's worth a read. Never Been Ready is a true romance story, with lots of twists and turns on the way to their HEA.
