RELEASE DAY BLITZ - Scorpions MC Prequel: Ryder by Jani Kay

TITLE: Scorpions MC Prequel: RYDER
AUTHOR: Jani Kay
RELEASE DATE:  January 28, 2014

All Jade ever wants is an intelligent, well-mannered, and highly educated man like her daddy. One who has stellar career prospects as he climbs the corporate ladder to success. A good provider who will give her a stable life and a gorgeous house in the right neighborhood. A charmed life. Everything orderly and well balanced. Her perfect match. Isn't that what every woman wants? What she doesn’t want is a smartass, cocky, rough-around-the-edges biker. One who has tattoos and piercings, and looks like a sex god. One who is demanding and controlling. The ultimate alpha male who storms into her life and shakes her to the core. Jade never saw it coming. Ryder is the one man she can’t resist. He shows her what she really needs. Him.

All Ryder wants is inner peace. Freedom from the hatred churning in his gut. Since his mother deserted him, his life has turned to sh*t. He’s killed a man, lost his brother and fought for his survival. All before turning twelve. Saved by Razor and Cobra, sons of the Scorpions, he owes his life and allegiance to them. The Scorpion MC is his only family. One he will serve and protect till his dying breath. What he doesn’t need in his life is a smart mouthed woman who thinks she’s better than him. One who pushes every one of his buttons. One who challenges him to want to be more than a drifter. One who makes him question everything he’s ever known. Ryder never saw it coming. He can’t get Jade out of his head. She shows him what he really wants. Her.

Seriously, cannot wait until the next book in this series!

This book shows how two individuals, Ryder and Jade, both from completely different worlds, meet and connect.

Jani Kay hits the ground running in her new book.  Ryder and Jade are sparring from page one and there is no signs of let up, throughout the book.  This can only lead to one thing.  Seriously hot, Hot, HOT sex!!  There is no way these two should be attracted to each other.  However the simmering attraction is evident right from the start.  Only problem is, someone forgot to tell these two!!

Ryder is obnoxious, argumentative and stubborn.  Jade is quite simply a snob!

The change in Jade's character during the book is dramatic.  From uptight, snob to someone not frightened to let her hair down and make the most of her potty mouth is amazing.  Ryder stays an overbearing Alpha Male, but does start to show his more compassionate side even if it is with a growl.

I am already looking forward to March to see what the future holds in store for these two.

My Rating

Jani has been married for a long time to a special man, and her two children and their partners are the sunshine in her life. She is a voracious reader and would spend her last dollar on a book - always fascinated that for the mere price of a book, she can escape her world for a while and see through someone else's eyes.

Besides reading, her favorite 'thing' is traveling - she has traveled the world, learning about the ways people live and has come to the realization that no matter where we live, we all ultimately want the same things. Her hobby - Scrapbooking - keeps her up till way after midnight and her usual subjects are her family and her travels.

Ever since she can remember, Jani wanted to write stories about people, about their lives and loves. Relationships and Happiness - arguably the most difficult things to master in life and yet exactly what everyone ultimately desires (in her humble opinion).

Shay

After waiting ten minutes in Victor’s kitchen, and another ten minutes in my car as it rumbled loudly in the driveway, the princess is finally seated in the black leather bucket seat beside me, arms crossed and looking none too happy about her predicament.

“You going to sit there and pout like a spoiled brat not getting her own way, or you actually going to talk to me?” I look over at the raven haired woman in my passenger seat who still has my groin tight and my breath lost.

She looks my way and scowls. “I don’t even know your name! And anyway, why would I want to talk to one of my father’s underlings who probably doesn’t know his head from his ass? Hell, even your hot ass muscle car is probably paid for with dirty fucking money.” She smirks, and I see it—that spark. The fire that I saw burning in her eyes this morning when we met.

I stop at an intersection and wait for the traffic lights to change. “Seems there are a few things we need to clear up, cupcake. My name is Shay, and this hot ass muscle car is mine and mine alone. No dirty fucking money involved. And I can assure you right now, I definitely know my head from my ass. You know what else?” I lean in towards her ear. “I also know where your ass and head are, and right now one is stuck so far up the other, it’s a wonder you don’t need breath mints.”

BLOG TOUR - Vendetta by Autumn Karr and Sienna Lane

TITLE: Vendetta
AUTHORS: Autumn Karr & Sienna Lane
GENRE: Contemporary Romance (Forbidden)
RELEASE DATE: December 15, 2013

TOUR ORGANIZED BY: As the Pages Turn

I am not a good man.

I have lied and cheated and stolen. I've decided between life or death, like it was my due. None of it matters, not anymore. These are not my sins.

I see her raise her hands, the dark metal she's clutching reflecting the moonlight.

Her finger trembles as she cocks the gun pointed at me. Her eyes are cold, determined, but I know.

I know her.

My name is Devon Andre and I confess my sin.
I am not a good man because this is the woman I love.

She pulls the trigger.

* Standalone contemporary romance.
* Mature reader advised due to sexual content and strong language.

From the minute I read the blurb for the book I was captivated.  I couldn't wait for this book to come out.

There is no easing into the storyline.  Right from page one you are planted right in the middle of the action.  From there I was hooked.  I didn't want to put the book down and had to read it in one sitting.

Leighton and Devon know each other, but they are on opposite sides, meaning they shouldn't like each other.  Never mind love each other.  But they do.  The simmering attraction is evident right from the outset.  Neither of them can give into the attraction though because of who they are.

As the story progresses, you find there is more to the situation than meets the eye.  However, you never really know which side anyone is on.  I loved how I was kept guessing about what was going on and how everyone fitted into the situation at hand.

As the plot unfolds and things start piecing together, you think Devon and Leighton are going to be okay and they could get their Happy Ever After, after all.  Then things take a sinister turn and the shit really hits the fan.
I found the book relatively fast paced and gripping and I am glad that my initial reaction to the blurb was spot on.  The writers did an excellent job of keeping me riveted and guessing.  Would I recommend this book?  Yes I would.

My Rating

I shake my head, muttering another curse. I should have just left her there. It's not like I have an overwhelming urge to play her knight in shining armor. God knows she's not a damsel in distress. The woman is poison, like all the Moores are. Unfortunately, despite what people think about me, I can't stand
men hitting women, and I'm sure as fuck George wouldn't have minded taking another swing at her. We may be criminals, but we're not complete assholes.

She moans again as I put her in the backseat of my black SUV and buckle her in. I round the back, and open up the trunk, looking for something to bind her with. I shake off the fleeting thought that maybe she wouldn't fight me. It's Leighton Moore, for fuck's sake, of course she would.

Fishing out the cable ties, I go back and secure her wrists, then her ankles. It doesn't seem like enough. I don't want to see her eyes when she wakes up, which could be any second now, so I remind myself to hurry the fuck up. I take off the scarf from around her neck, feeling the silk under my fingers for just a second. Then I pull out my pocketknife, and slice it in half. I blindfold her, and then gag her with the other half.

At this point I know it’s probably overkill, but I've never kidnapped a woman before, so who knows? Plus, it's Leighton. She's not just any woman.

Of course I know Leighton Moore. I only wish I didn't.

I knew who she was the first time I laid my eyes on her. It didn’t make any fucking difference in the grand scheme of things. I was doomed to keep seeing her and not being able to do anything about it.

Shaking off that thought, I finally get in the car and start it, backing out and getting the hell away from this place.

When I'm far enough away, I pull over into a secluded woodland area on the side of the road and just sit there, my car idling. What the fuck do I do with her? I could take her to my place, I guess, but I'm barely ever there. Most of the time I’m either at my uncle’s house or I’m out, working. I take out my phone and stare at it, contemplating. I glance back at her, and realize I have no choice. I have to call my uncle.

COVER REVEAL - Stolen Grace by Arianne Richmonde

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000038_00071]

TITLE: Stolen Grace
AUTHOR: Arianne Richmonde
GENRE: Suspense/Women's Fiction
RELEASE DATE: February 3, 2014

A marriage on the rocks.

Their little daughter caught in between.

And a woman who will stop at nothing.

Sylvia and Tommy Garland and their five-year-old daughter Grace have moved from the bright lights of New York City to the peaceful wilderness of the Wyoming countryside. But with the recession on their heels, Tommy leaves for LA for a job interview, and Ruth, an old friend of Sylvia's comes to stay.

In an unexpected turn of events, a family tragedy forces Sylvia to leave Ruth in charge of little Grace for just one day.

A decision that will tear their lives apart.

Stolen Grace is a roller coaster of emotions with twists and turns, a tale of lies and deception, of redemption and forgiveness.

And ultimately, a love story.

Arianne Richmonde is an American writer and artist who spent her formative years in both Britain and the US. She has also lived in Spain and France.

She has traveled to many corners of the globe and meeting people from all walks of life and different countries is a passion of hers. She speaks fluent Spanish and French. She lives in France in an old stone farmhouse amidst sunflower fields and vineyards, with her husband and coterie of animals.

Sylvia sat uneasily at the edge of the silk-backed bed and kicked off her shoes. She needed to do this. She needed, just for a snatch of time, to escape. She needed to help him too—give him strength. She inhaled the scent of him and rested her head against his shoulder. He smelled of sweet grass and sun- warmed skin. He unzipped her dress. His generous hands slipped around her waist and moved up the length of her body, then stroked her back. She shivered. His fingertips caressed her skin and she closed her eyelids—a twirl of colors swam beneath them: red, twinkling green. She could hear some birds tweeting outside the bedroom window, perched on the weeping willow tree and, as one flew past, the shadow darted across her colored vision, just a second, just a flash. Tommy continued to stroke her—his touch tender. Warm.

She remembered how much she loved this man. How she ached for him. How much she desired him physically.

He pushed the dress away from her shoulders and it fell in folds about her waist. He pressed his hand under her white cotton panties and cupped her crotch, lifting it a millimeter from the bed. She cried out. Taken aback, almost, by the tingling flurry between her legs. She had forgotten that could happen. She could feel herself moisten, and she wriggled out of her dress, letting it fall to the floor. His hands moved upwards toward her breasts, his touch soft, hardly there, letting a finger flicker on her nipple, quiet and restful. She turned herself around to face him, her legs straddled either side of his, the saddle of her thighs and bottom pressing against on his groin. He was rock hard. Bigger than she remembered. Her stomach pooled with desire and she heard herself moan quietly. They kissed. He tasted of sun and apples. She let her tongue explore his top lip, then his mouth, and felt the rough stubble of an unshaven face. He groaned and pulled her closer. She remembered how little they kissed these days, really kissed— deep, probing—and she remembered, too, how he craved that.

She could feel the steady throb between her legs, and edging herself up on her knees, still straddling him, she offered his mouth her nipple. He licked it. Softly. The end of his tongue flickered like a glinting light. She let out another little cry. Her need for him, like a volt, made her push him to the bed. His head thumped on the puffed linen pillows and hungrily she unbuttoned his shirt, grappled the belt, reaching for the buttons of his jeans, feeling the rock that was his desire, the pulse in her groin rhythmical and hot.

She drank in his chiseled abs, the definition of his pectorals. She pulled off his pants, halfway. She kissed him on his muscular thighs, her head resting against his hips, her tongue and lips searching for his cock as she looked up at him, a monument of flesh and bone and blood and love. They needed each other. For the first time in years, they could really give to one another. They needed each other’s strength, each other’s weakness.

Being united was imperative right now.

“Come here, my angel, my light. I need you close to me.” He grabbed her, pulling her up toward him from the waist, placing her on top of him. Her toes tingled, and she heard him hold his breath for a second as she let him slide into her, her hands guiding him in. It felt huge, unfamiliar, as if it were her first time. She caught her breath at the smarting pain. It lasted a second and then it was over, her wetness welcoming the man she loved, the fit perfect. She had forgotten how well they slotted together.

She had forgotten that.
